User Front-End Overview

The front end of the Faculty Scholarship database (FSD) can be found at:

Management Back-End

Only specific individuals with access to the Manage Area can be access this page by going to:

Login using your USDOne username and password.


Manage Scholarships

Click the Manage Scholarships icon module to enter the Scholarship Management database.


Adding a New Scholarship

Click the Add Another Scholarship link.



Select the correct options from the following dropdown menus. The selection for publication type alters other available fields:

Faculty Name: Click the dropdown and select the faculty name.

Publication Type: Click the dropdown and select one of the following publication types:

  • Book
  • Chapters of Books or Articles within Books
  • Journal Articles
  • Other
  • Presentations and Conferences
  • Community Involvement
  • Unassigned

Each Publication Type displays a different set of fields, described below. 



Specific Publication Type Fields

Book

  • Title: Title of the specific article or feature.
  • Scholarship URL: Link to the scholarship's URL.
  • Media Title: Title of the journal, book, or other platform.
  • Edition: Link to the scholarship's URL.
  • Media Title: Title of the journal, book, or other platform.
  • Edition/Number: Edition of the media. Do not include 'Ed'.. example: 5th, not 5th Ed.
  • Publisher: Specific publisher. 
  • Year: Year of publication.
  • Month: Publication month.
  • Day: Publication day.
  • Forthcoming?:Check if the publication is not yet released.
  • Featured?This is used if a faculty member wants to showcase a specific scholarship on their public biography page rather than the default of the most recent (up to 10).
  • Co-author(s): Enter the last names of up to 4 5 co-authors.
  • Editor(s): Enter the last names of up to 4 5 contributing editors.
  • Notes: Field for notes.
  • Approved?: Check if approved.

Click on Add This Scholarship.

Chapters of Books or Articles within Books

  • Title: Title of the specific article or feature.
  • Scholarship URL: Link to the scholarship's URL.
  • Volume: Enter a volume number of journal items. Must be numeric only. Leave blank if not applicable.
  • Media Title: Title of the journal, book, or other platform. Submit a web request at www.sandiego.edu/web-requests to have new media title/journal added to the options availableplatform.
  • Page Number(s): Leave blank if not applicable.
  • Edition/Number: Edition of the media. Do not include 'Ed'.. example: 5th, not 5th Ed.
  • Publisher: Specific publisher. 
  • Year: Year of publication.
  • Month: Publication month.
  • Day: Publication day.
  • Forthcoming?Check if the publication is not yet released.
  • Featured?This is used if a faculty member wants to showcase a specific scholarship on their public biography page rather than the default of the most recent (up to 10).
  • Co-author(s): Enter the last names of up to 4 5 co-authors.
  • Editor(s): Enter the last names of up to 4 contributing editors.
  • Notes: Field for notes.
  • Approved?: Check if approved.

Click on Add This Scholarship

Journal Articles

  • Title: Title of the specific article or feature.
  • Abstract: Type or paste in the abstract.
  • Attach the full version of this work as a PDF or Word document: Click on Choose button and attach the full article in either PDF or Word format.
  • Has an earlier version of this work been posted to SSRN? Click the checkbox if it has already been posted to the SSRN system.
  • Status of article publication: Click on the dropdown and choose one of the following:
    • Working Paper
    • Accepted/Forthcoming Paper
    • Published Paper
  • Media/Journal Title: Click the dropdown and select a title. Leave black if not applicable. NOTE: If you do not see the media/journal title in the dropdown, please add to the Notes field at the bottom of this form.
  • Editor(s): Enter the last names of up to 5 contributing editors.
  • Notes: Field for notes.
  • Approved?: Check if approved.

Click on Add This Scholarship.

  • Title: Title of the specific article or feature.
  • Scholarship URL: Link to the scholarship's URL.

  • Page Number(s): Leave blank if not applicable.

  • Month: Publication month.

  • Co-author(s): Enter the last names of up to 4 co-authors.
  • Recommended Keywords (used for searching) (optional): Enter keywords or phrases, separated by commas, if applicable.
  • Classification Code(s) (optional): Enter classification codes, separated by commas if applicable. View the codes at: JEL Classification Codes)
  • Notes: Enter any additional information in this field, such as a Media/Journal Title that is not included in the dropdown. Do not include parenthesis.
  • LSN Subject(s) (optional): Enter LSN subject codes, separated by commas if applicable. View the codes at: LSN Subject Codes.
  • Author Deposit Agreement: Review the deposit agreement and check one of the appropriate options:
    • Yes, I agree to the Author Deposit Agreement
    • No, I do not agree. Please place only the abstract in SSRN
    • I do not retain copyright or have granted an exclusive license to another party
  • Copyright Owner: Enter the name, email, and phone number of copyright owner or licenseethe media. Do not include 'Ed'.. example: 5th, not 5th Ed.
  • Date/Start Date: Beginning of the article start date.
  • End Date: End date of the article. Leave blank if no end date.
  • Forthcoming?Check if the publication is not yet released.

  • Title: Title of the specific article or feature.
  • Year: Year of publication.
  • Month: Publication month.
  • Day: Publication day.
  • Date Range: Range of dates.
  • Co-presenter(s): Enter the names of up to 4 co-presenters.
  • Role: Check all roles that apply:
    • chair
    • commentator
    • debater
    • moderator
    • organizer
    • panelist
    • presenter
    • participant
  • Conference Name: Enter the last names of up to 4 contributing editors.
  • Conference Location: Enter the location, such as hotel, convention center, etc.
  • City: The city where the conference or presentation took place.
  • State: The state where the conference or presentation took place.
  • Country: The state where the conference or presentation took place.
  • Approved?: Check if approved.

Click on Add This Scholarship

Community Involvement

  • Title: Title of the specific article or feature.
  • Year: Year of publication.
  • Month: Publication month.
  • Day: Publication day.
  • Date Range: Range of dates.
  • Approved?: Check if approved.

Click on Add This Scholarship





Editing a Scholarship

Find the scholarship you wish to edit, and click the edit icon to the right of the faculty member listing.

If you've just added a new scholarship, it should also appear in this list.




Editing a Specific Entry

Find the entry you wish to edit, and click the edit icon to the right of the listing.

After making changes, click the Update This Scholarship button.

If you wish to delete the entry, click the Delete This Scholarship button. 














Using the Scholarship Report Tool

Use the reporting tool to generate a specific list of scholarship based on publication type, scholarship in premiere publications, and date range. You can update the filter and refresh the results, display the results a paragraph or bullet format, as well as download results in a csv file format.

Log in using your USDOne username and password.

Filtering Scholarship Publications

Publication type: Check any of the publication types you want to display. To display all publications, check All.

Show Only Scholarship in/by Premiere Publications: Check box to return only scholarship in premiere publications.

Year range (YYYY): You can choose between a calendar or academic year, or enter a specific starting and ending year range. Leave the years blank if you want all years returned.

Displaying Results

Choose a Display Format: Choose to display the results in a paragraph or bullet format.

Click Refresh Results to see your filtered results.

Downloading Results

Download your result set into as a csv file by clicking Download Results.
