Note: The Use the following instructions are only for loading new media on to to load labels and ribbon for the Zebra GS430t printersprinter.  Please contact libservices@sandiego.edu if you have other print-related needs, including connecting to a networked printer, fixing alignment issues or configuring Sierra to work with the printer.

Loading labels

 

Open the printer. Remember that you need to pull the release latch levers toward the front of the printer (as seen above).

Pull the green media guides open with your free hand and place the media labels roll on the roll holders and release the guides. Orient the media labels roll so that its printing surface will be up is facing UP as it comes out of the printer. 

Verify that the labels are loaded and ready to print and then close the printer cover.

*Any time the printer lid is opened and closed, you will need to press the top feed button so it queues up a label at the appropriate place in the printer.

Loading ribbon

*Important: Keep the old, empty cardboard roll from the last ribbon as it will be used to "take-up" the next roll of ribbon.

Rotate the thumb wheel on the left side of the supply spindle until the ribbon is pulled tight across the printhead.

Verify that the media ribbon is loaded and ready to print and then close the printer cover.

*Any time the printer door lid is opened and closed, you will need to press the top feed button so it queues up a label at the appropriate place in the printer.
