Accessing the Nursing Homepage in Cascade
For instructions on how to use Cascade, visit sandiego.edu/cascade.
To reach the Nursing home page in Cascade, go to http://cms.sandiego.edu, use your USDOne login name and password to log in, and then navigate to the soles site in the site selector.
Once there, click on the index page at the very bottom of the Explorer.
Editing the Home Page
Once selected, click the Edit button to begin editing the page.
Sections
The Nursing homepage is divided into five sections:
Hero
Intro
School Highlights
Academic Highlights
Call to Action
Most of these five sections are further divided into sub-sections.
There are two additional portions of the home page, the Nursing MyPostings area, and the Contact Footer. Both of those are controlled outside of the index page.
Hero
The Hero section contains “buttons.” These buttons are the links to the Nursing programs in the large “hero image” on the homepage.
There can be a minimum of one button, or a maximum of 5 buttons. Buttons, like all components in Cascade, are added and deleted just like “rows.”
Each of the buttons contains the following fields:
Name: Displays the button text.
URL - Internal: Use if linking to an internal link.
URL - External: Use if linking to an external link.
Intro
The Intro section is only two fields:
Lead: Type in the opening line for the paragraph that appears below in the Content field.
Content: Uses the Text Module. Type in whatever text you need to appear.
School Highlights
The School Highlights section can contain between 1 and 6 entries.
Please do not include academic program-specific items in this section, as those go in the next section.
The School Highlights contain the following fields:
Title: Creates the blue text link under the image and above the paragraph text from the Content field below.
Content: Uses the Text Module. Type in whatever text you need to appear.
Image: Allows for internally linking to an image that has been uploaded into Cascade.
Image Description (alt): This text only displays for screen readers. Text should be limited to two or three words. Examples include, "Learn more." or "Visit." Follow the directions for creating accessible image descriptions.
URL: Allows for internally linking to another asset in Cascade.
Academic Highlights
The Academic Highlights section can contain between 1 and 6 entries.
Please include only academic program-specific items in this section.
The Academic Highlights contain the following fields:
Title: Creates the blue text link under the image and above the paragraph text from the Content field below.
Content: Uses the Text Module. Type in whatever text you need to appear.
Image: Allows for internally linking to an image that has been uploaded into Cascade.

Call to Action
At the bottom of the homepage is the Call to Action section.
The Call to Action section contain the following fields:
Title: Creates the lead text link above the paragraph text from the Content field below.
Content: Uses the Text Module. Type in whatever text you need to appear.
URL: Allows for internally linking to another asset in Cascade. This creates the button text in the Call to Action.
Spotlight
The Spotlight section of the homepage is dynamically fed from MyPostings.
In MyPostings, if the Category is set to Spotlight, and the Department Website(s) has School of Nursing and Health Science added, then that post will display on the homepage.

MyPostings News & Events
The News and Events section of the homepage is dynamically fed from MyPostings.
In MyPostings, if the Category is set to either News or Event, and the Department Website(s) has School of Nursing and Health Science added, then that post will display on the homepage.

Accessing the Nursing Timeline
The frontend of the Nursing Timeline can be accessed by going to https://staging.sandiego.edu/nursing/about/history.php.
Modifying the Nursing Timeline
To make any alterations to the Nursing timeline, submit a web request detailing the desired change, and one of your friendly neighborhood webbies will make the change for you! Go to sandiego.edu/web-requests to create your ticket.
