Submitting Varia to Newsnotes (for Faculty)

Beginning Fall 2019 all varia to be included in the Provost Faculty Newsnotes must be submitted via this updated process.

Please follow the outlined instructions. If you have questions or need any submissions edited after you have already submitted the information, please email Kristin Scialabba (kscialabba@sandiego.edu) in the Provost's Office. 



The Submission Form

  1. Visit the Salesforce submission form at https://usd.tfaforms.net/218665

  2. Log in with your USDOne credentials.

NOTE: You'll notice the first three fields are pre-populated with your personal information.




Finish Your Identity Information

NOTE: Some fields will be pre-populated. All fields in this section of the form are required.

  1. Name and USD Email: not editable

  2. Title: Update your title if desired

  3. Degree/Credentials: Enter your degree and/or credentials

  4. School: Select your school from the list.




Choose Which Newsnotes Issue to Include the Varia In

  1. Newsnotes Issue: Select the Newsnotes Issue (month) you would like your submitted varia to appear in.

  2. Year: Select the year for the Newsnotes issue. You can choose from the current year or two subsequent years.




Add Varia Information

  1. Is this a publication/presentation/conference/media appearance? Please select the most appropriate option.

  2. Title: Title of item, if one exists

  3. Link (URL to specific item): Please include full URL, including https://, if this field is utilized.

  4. Description (1-2 sentences at most)

  5. Add another submission: Click "add another submission in the bottom right of this section to add multiple items to this Newsnotes issue. 

After clicking "Add another submission"...


Submit the Form

  1. Submit: Click "Submit". You will receive a confirmation on the screen, and the Provost's Office will review and approve your submissions for inclusion in the desired Newsnotes issue.
