Videos can be used either in a Text Module's Content Field, or in an Image Module. This section covers using them in Text Modules. Embed Links are only used for Image Modules. YouTube videos and other media can be referenced or embedded into pages using the WYSIWYG editor. Before you can include a video into a Text Module, you need either the URL (web address) or the embed code depending on the video platform. YouTube is strongly recommended for accessibility reasons. Here are examples of a Source URL, an Embed Code, and an Embed Link, all to the same YouTube video. Source URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yON_E6NGzK4 Embed Code: <iframe width="854" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/yON_E6NGzK4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Embed Link: https://www.youtube.com/embed/yON_E6NGzK4 If you are using a video from USD's streaming server at http://video.sandiego.edu, you'll want to use the Permalink which will resemble the following: https://video.sandiego.edu/Watch/Jo6z2Y5E The embed code allows for more control over the image size. However, it's recommended that the URL is used in the Source field to better accommodate responsiveness. Click on the Insert/Edit Embedded Media button on the WYSIWG editor. Source URL Videos Enter the URL for the Video in the Source field. Embed Code Videos Click on the Embed tab. An example of what your finished code would look like appears in the screenshot below.Videos
